Within 24hrs of birth baby developed generalized tonic seizures. Diagnosis was thus revised to HIE stage 2/3. Case managed with IVF(IV Fluids), phenobarbitone, prophylatic antibiotics, Oxygen, dexamethasone and supportive measures. He was born by vacuum extraction, a difficult 2nd stage delivery. primi mother. Apgar score 0 @ 1 min, 5 @ 5 mins, 6 @ 10mins. Required resuscitation @ birth ~20-30 mins. Following resuscitation(Resuscitation note) baby was transferred to Nursery and managed as a case of birth asphyxia. Spontaneous respirations established at ~20mins after birth.
