Farewell! Handicap International says goodbye to the Maldives…
Sadly it is time for us to close our office and leave the Maldives at the end of 2009. We established our programme in October 2005, following the Tsunami and have been funded by the donations of the Belgian public.
While we have been here we have collaborated with many partners, and we hope that the work we carried out will be of benefit to partners, their target groups, and people with disabilities in general.
We have enjoyed working with;
- Association for Disability and Development
- Care Society
- CBR AWDI Hithadhoo
- Hand in Hand
- Heeds Learning Centre, Thinadhoo
- Hulhevi Media
- Maldives Deaf Association
- Maldives Association of the Handicap
- Mooinc
- Raajje Foundation
- The British Red Cross
- The French Red Cross
- The International Federation of the Red Cross/Red Cresent Society
- The Ministry of Health and Family
- The Ministry of Education
- Many other Ministries in the development of the National Policy on Disability
- The United Nations Agencies
- Youth Group, Kulhudhuffushi
A very big THANK YOU to you all, may the good work continue!
