Baby was born by vacuum extraction on 04-Jan-2003 to a 26yr old primi mother with h/o prolonged and difficult 2nd stage of labour. Apgar score 0 at 1min, 5 at 5min, 6 at 10 min Baby required cardiopulmonary resuscitation at birth. resuscitation, ETT and ambubagging required for ~20-30 minutes. Following resuscitation baby was transferred to Nursery and managed as a case of birth asphyxia. Spontaneous respirations established at ~20mins after birth.
